There are many different factors to consider in the sustainable design of new buildings. Good practice sustainable design starts from a basic understanding of how the client works on a day to day basis; their long term requirements; the profile, surroundings and micro climate of the site; the local context, facilities and resources.
Sustainable solutions come from understanding what the client wants and needs.
This process allows us to identify key elements of each site and project that point towards specific sustainable design solutions. We have a fabric first approach to building solutions, concentrating on orientation, thermal mass, daylighting, natural ventilation and other passive design solutions to deliver low energy buildings in use.
