Manchester Oxford Road Station

Manchester Oxford Road Station is a Grade II listed building that was built in 1959. It consists of four laminated timber arches underdrawn with timber boarding. Austin-Smith:Lord was part of a consultant team working under Railtrack and the Station Regeneration Programme to upgrade passenger facilities. This included the reproofing of the station and platform canopies.

It has been described by the Department of National Heritage as ‘A unique main station building of outstanding architectural quality and technological interest; one of the most dramatic stations in England.’
