We work at the interface of people, places and natural systems, in a dynamic environment of constant change
Industry and InfrastructureWe integrate into the production and project team to quickly get to grips with key drivers and develop an optimum solution. Our visualisation and communication skills enable quick delivery of potential solutions and a rapid response to feedback.
We always maintain a 360 degree view. Our unique position within the team allows us to question and probe, seeking better solutions and challenge the accepted. Our goal is to improve outcomes for our clients by releasing the potential in their team and guiding them to efficient and innovative solutions. We strive to exceed expectation, continuously improving our service.
Central to our philosophy is an understanding of three key elements: people, process and place.
PeopleUnderstanding how people use a space and how it will make them feel is a key part of designing successful, useful buildings. Without the people that inhabit and operate a facility, it becomes a shell. Positive space inspires loyalty, efficiency and productive work and can have a direct impact on the bottom line.
The teams that create the space are just as important. Good communication results in strong working relationships, effective projects and happy clients. We sit at the hub of the team, sharing knowledge and best practice and encouraging people to contribute usefully.
We work hard to understand people and what makes them tick – our clients, the teams we work in and the end users of the spaces we design.
ProcessIn this sector, everything we do is about process and how architecture can improve it. To design an effective building, we need a proper understanding of the processes it will house and the impact on the bottom line of the building and the process combined. We develop this understanding through comprehensive research and learning exercises, through knowing our clients and through 20 years’ experience in the sector.
We use the latest tools, including BIM, to ensure effective project management and good team working.
PlaceProcess, building, site and location are one. The layering of functional need can be complex, driven by the relationship of the process to its location and the proximity of the supply chain and customer. The site is an extension of the process, enabling stock control and material transfer. Site logistics can impact achievable Takt time: it’s the first part of the line. We work to connect suppliers to a facility to meet required production volumes and cycles.
Location, setting, approach and working environment are vital in attracting the right people, who want to be comfortable, safe and efficient. Good parking, well lit exteriors, clear navigation and well executed branding are all taken into consideration.
Operational areas need safe and efficient movement and stocking of materials in an environment where people, vehicles and equipment can co-exist safely.
We work with the site to achieve the optimum solution to the client’s customer output requirements, whilst respecting the need to care for the people involved.
